#Fun activities to do in supermart....
Hi Sec 3 students,
Chemistry and the supermarkets are closely knitted together. Really, duh???? Yes, I am not kidding you!!!!
Next time you go to the supermarkets, look at some of the labels of the milk, chocolate, drinks, coffee, and even window cleaners. See whether you can spot any chemicals in them. Fats, proteins and carbohydrates are biochemicals too!
For example, in a car tyre spray cleaner, I spotted a gas called butane (C4H8) in it. Butane is of the same family as methane (CH4). You will learn organic chemistry later in Sec 4. I also spotted a chemical silicon dioxide (SiO2) in a packet of crackers.
Look at your house shampoos and facial cleaners too. They contain Lots!!!! of chemicals.
Some ketchups contain artificial colourings (E1141 or something like that). These colorings are originally made by chemists in the sterile chemistry labs.
Have fun! Hope you can still eat your meals!!! Lol.....
